430 lb-ft of torque
That number is the whole story of the redesigned Colorado. When Chevrolet rebuilt this truck for 2023, they threw out the entire engine lineup — the four, the V6, the diesel — and replaced all of it with one engine: the 2.7-liter TurboMax. In Z71 spec it makes 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft, more torque than the old V6 by well over a hundred pound-feet and more than plenty of full-size half-tons from a decade ago. Backed by an eight-speed automatic and a 3.42 rear axle, it moves this truck in a way the spec sheet doesn't prepare you for.

What the previous owner ordered
Z71 Convenience Package II ($1,625) is the big one, and it's the package that turns a work-flavored Z71 into a truck you're happy to daily: heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, remote start, an 8-way power driver's seat with power lumbar, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and the EZ Lift and Lower tailgate with a lockable storage compartment.

Then the power sliding glass sunroof ($1,000). The Technology Package ($950) — HD Surround Vision, rear pedestrian alert, and adaptive cruise control. 20-inch Dark Android aluminum wheels ($800) in place of the standard eighteens. The Z71 badge earns itself underneath: an Autotrac two-speed transfer case with push-button control, an automatic-locking rear differential, hill descent control, a driver mode selector with off-road settings, and red recovery hooks up front. Real low range, real locker. Not a graphics package.
