The Xtreme 35 Tire Package puts LT315/70R17 tires on 17-by-8-inch beadlock-capable wheels, and then does the part the driveway builds skip: wider Dana M210 front and M220 rear heavy-duty axles, 4.56 gears so the V6 pulls the tall tires without hunting for a ratio, an anti-spin rear differential, upgraded four-wheel disc brakes, a suspension raised and tuned for the tire size, and a reinforced hinge-gate with a tire relocation kit so the full-size 35 on the back does not sag the tailgate. It is the 35-inch Wrangler with the engineering already finished.

The High Tide was a short-run, two-door-only Wrangler, and this one carries the full package. Quick Order Package 25D High Tide ($12,095 value) brings the body-color three-piece hard top, a MOPAR Sunrider for Hardtop that opens the front of the roof like a sunroof without removing the Freedom panels, LED reflector headlamps with LED fog lamps, Rubicon high-line fender flares with wheel flare extensions, rock protection sill rails, the High Tide hood decal, Corning Gorilla Glass windshield, deep-tint windows, MOPAR all-weather floor mats, a premium wrapped steering wheel, and remote keyless entry. The Trailer Tow and Auxiliary Switch Group ($1,195) adds a Class II receiver hitch with 7-and-4-pin wiring, a 240-amp alternator, a 700-amp battery, and four factory auxiliary switches on the dash already wired for light bars, a winch, or an air compressor. The engine is the 3.6L Pentastar V6 with eTorque and the eight-speed automatic. eTorque is Jeep's 48-volt mild hybrid system: a belt-driven motor-generator replaces the alternator, restarts the engine almost instantly at stoplights, and fills in torque at low rpm, which is exactly where a 35-inch tire needs help. This was the final model year for the eTorque V6 in the Wrangler. Behind it is the part-time four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed transfer case, solid axles front and rear, and the anti-spin rear differential.

Safety on a Wrangler starts with seeing and being seen. The LED headlamp and fog lamp group lights the trail properly, the auto-dim rearview mirror handles the lifted trucks behind you at night, and the Uconnect system includes emergency and assistance calling with a SiriusXM Guardian trial.
