Of the two Land Cruiser grades, the cheaper one is the one enthusiasts actually want — and this is it. The 1958 is named for the year the Land Cruiser first arrived in America, and it is the only grade that wears heritage-inspired circular LED headlights. The pricier Land Cruiser grade gets rectangular units. Round lights are the face this nameplate wore for decades, they are the reason people stop and look at one in a parking lot, and Toyota put them on the entry trim. There is something very right about that, and it is why 1958s are the ones people go hunting for.

Both grades run the same i-FORCE MAX powertrain: a turbocharged hybrid making 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque through an 8-speed automatic. It is the coolest paint to climb into after an afternoon in the sun, and it hides pollen and trail dust better than anything dark.
