Performance Features
Producing up to 245 total horsepower, a hybrid powertrain propels the 2022 Toyota Sienna XLE and XSE. This efficient propulsion system includes a 2.5-L internal combustion engine that burns regular unleaded gasoline. Thanks to such an efficient design, both models receive the Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) designation from the government. These Toyota minivans come standard with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) system that saves fuel in normal driving conditions. Two electric motors are directly linked to the FWD system for instant power delivery. Both vehicles are available with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, which comes with an extra motor that drives the rear wheels. A continuously variable transmission system smoothly syncs the hybrid system with either drivetrain. By pressing a button on the center console, you could turn on the EV Mode for the hybrid system. Other driving settings at hand include Eco, Normal, and Sport mode. These three-row vehicles are muscular enough to tow 3,500 pounds based on SAE J2807 metrics. Bolstered by a sport-tuned suspension system, the Sienna XSE edition offers a slightly better ride at fast speeds. Additionally, this higher-level model includes a sport-tuned electric power steering (EPS) system for more spirited handling.
Interior Comfort
The 2022 Toyota Sienna XLE and XSE include a standard four-zone climate control system that manages significant temperature differentials throughout the cabin. Integrated into the overhead console in the second row, an electronic control panel adjusts the settings of the quad-zone HVAC system. Both Toyota minivans are furnished with an eight-way driver’s seat and four-way passenger’s seat. These power-adjustable seats in the front row come with the trademark SofTex upholstery and seatback pockets. Three levels of heating are included for the XSE’s first-row seating. This upgraded model comes standard with second-row captain’s chairs, with an extended sliding design for easy movement. The XLE is available with a second-row bench seat that’s spacious enough for three passengers. Additionally, both minivans have third-row seating with the One-Motion-Stow Split & Stow configuration.
Technology Features
Generating colored graphics, a 4.2-inch Multi-Information Display (MID) is standard inside the 2022 Toyota Sienna XLE and XSE. The MID shows fuel economy, warnings from the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite, and other real-time information. Featuring a 9.0-inch touch screen, the Audio Plus is installed on the XLE. This entry-level infotainment console includes Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Connected Services. The Dynamic Navigation System is added to the XSE’s enhanced 9.0-inch multimedia center. Both Toyota minivans are available with an optional 12-speaker sound system from JBL and a wireless charging system for smartphones.
