Performance Features
Engineered to run on gasoline, the 2022 Toyota Highlander Limited’s 3.5-L engine block peaks at 295 horsepower. The Atkinson cycle controls the combustion cycles in this V-6 powertrain. Cranking out 263 pound-feet of torque, the six-cylinder powerhouse operates on the latest VVT-i mechanics. In some circumstances on the road, this 24-valve engine completely shuts off. An eight-speed automatic transmission forms a solid combination with the V-6 gas engine. This electronically controlled gearbox comes from the latest Direct-Shift platform. An all-wheel-drive from the Dynamic Torque Vectoring series is also standard on the Limited and Platinum. This proprietary AWD sends up to half of all available power to the rear axle. Both Toyota SUVs ride on a front suspension system with trailing wishbone components. Measuring just over 13 inches in diameter, front, and rear disc brakes are standard on these premium family cars. Each three-row model is also muscular enough to haul a 5,000-pound trailer. Even when towing on curved roads, you’ll stay on course because of precise adjustments from the Trailer-Sway Control. Additionally, these powerful Toyota SUVs have the default Multi-Terrain Select technology for navigating off-road trails.
Interior Amenities
Trimmed in authentic leather upholstery, a 10-way driver’s seat is installed inside the 2022 Toyota Highlander Limited. This model is available with a flat-folding, second-row bench seat designed for three people. The Platinum has standard folding captain’s chairs for two people in the middle row. These advanced seats include heating for class-leading comfort. Second-row sunshades are also installed inside the Platinum edition. Illuminated door sills in the first row certainly distinguish this high-tier trim from the Limited. However, both Highlander models have a digital clock, ambient lighting, and up to 14 bottle holders.
Technology Features
The 2022 Toyota Highlander Limited includes the Dynamic Navigation System, which has been updated for better performance. You’ll clearly see icons and widgets on the 8.0-inch color touch screen. This next-generation multimedia center supports the world’s most popular mobile technologies, including Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa. You’ll also get various trials to the Toyota Connected Services. For example, a three-month subscription to Wi-Fi Connect is a major perk of buying this three-row Toyota SUV. An 11-speaker audio system from JBL is another high-tech treasure inside the model. The Platinum trim flaunts a 12.3-inch display that’s even easier to view and manage. Additionally, the advanced Bird’s Eye Camera sends images to this large monitor. A 10-inch head-up display is another technology integrated into this upscale edition. Both Toyota models have five standard USB ports, two 12-V outlets, and one 120-V AC socket.
