Performance Features
The 2022 Toyota Camry XLE’s 2.5-liter engine produces 203 net horsepower built on the Dynamic Force architecture. This 16-valve DOHC powertrain has a peak torque output of 184 pound-feet. The Camry XSE gets an additional three horsepower and two lb-ft from the four-cylinder powerplant. Both models receive fuel-saving benefits from the VVT-i and D-4S Injection technologies. These midsize sedans run on a standard front-wheel drive, receiving torque from the Direct-Shift automatic transmission system. Creating up to eight gear speeds, the gearbox may be paired with an optional all-wheel drive for best-in-class handling. Featuring the trademark Dynamic Torque Vectoring technology, the AWD regulates the torque flow in all wheels. Both Toyota Camry trims ride on an independent front suspension system with a stabilizer bar. Sport-tuned shock absorbers enhance the overall performance of the XSE’s suspension system. Additionally, both Toyota sedans are equipped with 12.0-inch front disc brakes that have single-piston calipers.
Technology Features
Having a redesigned interface, the Audio Plus System is standard on the Toyota Camry XLE and XSE. Rising above the center stack, the 9.0-inch infotainment display is easily visible and accessible. A 12-month trial to the Safety Connect suite is integrated into the multimedia system. Both sedans also have a 10-year subscription to Service Connect. Enabling remote management of the vehicle from a smartphone, the Remote Connect comes with a 12-month trial. Additionally, the Wi-Fi Connect service comes with a three-month plan at no extra cost. Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay are already built into the Audio Plus console. Both Camry editions have a standard sound system with six speakers and the SiriusXM Platinum Plan for three months. If you want better acoustics, you could select the nine-speaker JBL audio system for either model. Additionally, the Destination Assist technology is incorporated into the same optional package that has the signature speakers.
Safety Features
Standard on the 2022 Toyota Camry XLE and XSE, the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ suite is packed with some of the most advanced driver-assistance technologies ever developed by Toyota. If it anticipates a collision with a pedestrian or car, the Pre-Collision System issues audible and visual notifications. The PC-S technology automatically slams on the brakes if you don’t react accordingly. Likewise, the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with the Full-Speed design could apply the braking system on the highway. The Lane Tracing Assist and Lane Departure Alert encourage you to stay centered on an individual lane. Appearing on the Multi-Information Display, the Road Sign Assist reads a variety of posted traffic signs. Additionally, both midsize Toyota sedans have ten airbags and a collapsible steering column for optimum protection during crashes.
