Toyota Camry XSE Hybrid Performance Features

Performance Features

Toyota’s mechanical engineers thoughtfully designed the Dynamic Force engine for the 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid XSE and XLE. Having a classic inline design, the four-cylinder powertrain develops 176 horsepower when completing combustion. Boosted by the D-4S injection system, this I-4 engine twists out 163 pound-feet of torque. Generating 88 net kW, an electric motor augments the internal combustion engine. This 650-V motor also cranks out approximately 150 lb-ft of torque. Having a traction-style design, a 259-V battery directly sends current to the motors. When all electrical components work smoothly with the gas engine, the hybrid powertrain peaks at 208 hp. A continuously variable transmission system makes a suitable combination with the electrified engine. Both hybrid models also roll on a front-wheel-drive (FWD) system. As confirmed by the EPA, these efficient midsize sedans boast a combined fuel economy of 46 mpg. Storing just over 13 gallons, the fuel tank ensures a driving range of about 600 miles. Four driving modes are available for both trims, including the Eco and EV.
