Toyota Highlander Powertrain

Toyota Highlander Powertrain

Running on gasoline, a 2.4-liter engine propels the 2025 Toyota Highlander. This turbocharged engine makes 265 net horsepower at 6,000 RPM. Receiving fuel from the D-4S system, the turbo engine spits out 310 lb-ft of torque. Such an output occurs between 1,700 and 3,600 RPM. The 16-valve powertrain can run on the Atkinson cycle for maximum efficiency. When fitted with a FWD, the 2025 Highlander gets up to 29 mpg on the highway. You’ll get slightly less fuel economy with the traditional AWD or the enhanced Dynamic Torque Vectoring AWD. An eight-speed automatic transmission forms a great partnership with the turbo powerplant. This versatile gearbox includes the patented Direct-Shift design. If you add the proper trailering hardware to the 2025 Highlander, you’ll get a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. This light-duty Toyota SUV rides on a front suspension with a trailing-wishbone design. A multi-link rear suspension properly absorbs static and dynamic loads. When equipped with the Multi-Terrain Select, this premium Toyota SUV confidently tackles off-road trails.
