Performance Features
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma extracts a total of 278 horsepower from a 2.4-liter engine. When spinning at only 1,700 RPM, the turbocharged engine produces 317 pound-feet of torque. This midsize pickup truck taps into 465 lb-ft of torque and 326 hp from the i-FORCE MAX hybrid engine. Running on natural aspiration, a V-6 engine is standard on the 2024 4Runner. This classic 4.0-L engine kicks out 270 net hp. When operating at exactly 4,000 RPM, the six-cylinder powerhouse develops 278 lb-ft. A five-speed automatic transmission system works in tandem with the 4.0-L engine. The Tacoma has three additional gear speeds for automatic transmission. This versatile Toyota truck also offers a six-speed manual gearbox with anti-stalling and Rev Matching technologies. A dual-speed transfer case significantly expands the capabilities of this light-duty workhorse. Such a traditional mechanical component supplements the 4WDemand system. Similarly, the 4Runner offers a 4WD system with part-time or full-time configurations. This rugged SUV could be equipped with the Torsen limited-slip center differential and a locking rear differential. The iconic Automatic Limited-Slip Differential is standard on the Tacoma’s rear-wheel drive. Both Toyota models offer several off-road modes through the Multi-Terrain Select. With extra help from the Crawl Control and Downhill Assist Control, both vehicles easily conquer steep terrains. Additionally, these reliable models are available with off-road-tuned shock absorbers from FOX.
