Generating up to 265 horsepower, a 2.4-liter engine block propels the 2024 Toyota Highlander XLE and XSE. This turbocharged powerhouse twists out 310 pound-feet of torque between 1,700 and 3,600 RPM. Executing combustion through the Atkinson cycle, the four-cylinder powerplant has an automatic stop-start system. This compact engine works with the legendary Direct Shift 8AT system with eight-gear speeds. You can pair the signature gearbox with the Dynamic Torque Vectoring AWD for superior off-road driving. Both Toyota SUVs have 13.3-inch front disc brakes with ventilated openings. These powerful vehicles already come standard with 13.3-inch rear disc brakes with solid textures without vents. A trailing-wishbone design is incorporated into the front suspension system on each vehicle. The Highlander XSE edition boasts a sport-tuned suspension for even better handling. Both Toyota models have the Snow Mode for enhanced traction in inclement weather. You could maximize traction on dry roads through the Sport Mode. Having the Multi-Terrain Select bundle and Downhill Assist Control, the Highlander XSE flaunts phenomenal off-road capabilities. This premium SUV has a 16.9-inch approach angle and a 21.1-degree departure angle. The Highlander XLE has an 18.1-degree approach angle and a 23.5-degree departure angle.

The 2024 Toyota Highlander XLE and XSE boast the SofTex trimming on the front seats. This synthetic upholstery covers the 10-way driver’s and eight-way passenger seats. You can also get an eight-seat configuration for the XLE. Such a layout comes with flat-folding seats in the third row for extra versatility. These unique seats even have sliding headrests for extra comfort. Both Toyota SUVs have a standard tri-zone climate control system with air vents in all rows. A power-sliding moonroof is already installed on each trim. Additionally, the deluxe XSE model has interior ambient lighting.
