Performance Capabilities
Toyota’s mechanical engineers equip the 2024 Grand Highlander with a standard 2.4-liter engine block that spits out 265 horsepower. This 16-valve, inline-four engine develops 310 pound-feet of torque. Running on natural aspiration, a 2.5-L engine supplements the entry-level hybrid powertrain. This compact propulsion system yields a total of 245 hp and 175 lb-ft. High-level models extract 362 hp from the enhanced Hybrid Max powerhouse. Thanks to the 2.4-L turbo engine, the electrified propulsion system twists out a maximum of 400 lb-ft. Similarly, the 2023 Toyota Highlander is available with this powerful turbo engine. However, this model gets 243 hp and 175 lb-ft from the light-duty hybrid system with a 2.5-L engine. Both Toyota SUVs have enough strength to pull a 5,000-pound trailer in accordance with rigorous SAE J2807 guidelines. These three-row vehicles also offer an eight-speed automatic transmission from the familiar Direct-Shift line. An electronically controlled transmission is synced with the hybrid systems on both cars. Only the 2024 Grand Highlander is available with a six-speed automatic gearbox. Thanks to the Multi-Terrain Select technology, both models perform well on the trails. In some situations, these efficient family vehicles even offer the selectable EV Mode for all-electric cruising. Additionally, you can get the Dynamic Torque AWD or electrified e-AWD system for either SUV.
Design Features
Up to seven color schemes are optional for the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander, including Coastal Cream and Blueprint. Nine paint choices, such as Moon Dust and Cypress, are available for the 2023 Toyota Highlander. Both SUVs may be fitted with 20-inch metallic wheels. Some unique characteristics of the Grand Highlander’s wheels include two-tone styling and a silver lining. A rear spoiler enriches the overall profile of each trim. Black paint covers the front grille of these full-size vehicles. You’ll also get some of the most powerful lighting systems in the segment, including LED fog lamps. Additionally, the Highlander boasts an exclusive Adaptive Front Lighting system with automatic leveling.
Technology Features
Standard on the 2024 Grand Highlander, the 12.3-inch multimedia system empowers you behind the wheel. This premium infotainment center is optional inside the 2023 Highlander. Otherwise, you’ll receive an 8.0-inch display inside this model. Some of the latest Connected Services available in both Toyota SUVs include the Drive Connect and Remote Connect. Certified by JBL, an 11-speaker sound system is the main entertainment hub in both vehicles. You can easily stream personalized content through wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Both three-row vehicles have several sophisticated driver-assistance features, like the Panoramic View Monitor with various views. Additionally, the Traffic Jam Assist and Pre-Collision System keep you safe on busy roads.
