Powertrain Features
The 2024 Crown Limited harnesses 184 horsepower from the 2.5-liter Dynamic Force engine. Utilizing the Toyota Direct Ignition (TDI) technology and D-4S fuel injection, this signature I-4 engine dishes out 163 pound-feet of torque. An electric motor delivers an additional 149 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels. A smaller motor sends 89 lb-ft to the car’s rear wheels. Both motors extract electricity from a Nickel Metal-Hydride battery rated at 230.4 V. This powerful Ni-MH battery also feeds the 2024 Crown Platinum’s Hybrid MAX powertrain. When working at peak levels, the high-end hybrid system delivers 340 net hp and 400 lb-ft. A 2.4-L turbocharged engine block generates a maximum of 264 hp under the hood of the Platinum edition. According to EPA estimates, the Limited trim has a combined fuel economy of 41 mpg. You can also apply the EV Mode for all-electric driving. The Platinum offers a combined fuel efficiency of 30 mpg. Thanks to the Sport S+ Mode, this high-end model goes from 0 to 60 mph in only 5.7 seconds. Both Crown models offer the classic Eco Mode for a great balance of power and efficiency. Delivering various gear ratios, the electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT) propels the Limited. Having six gear speeds, the Direct Shift gearbox drives the Platinum. Additionally, this sporty hybrid Toyota car has the exclusive Adaptive Variable Suspension.
Technology Features
The 2024 Crown Limited and Platinum are equipped with the Toyota Audio Multimedia system, featuring a 12.3-inch touch screen. This advanced system allows you to import your custom applications from Android smartphones or iPhones and enjoy the built-in Apple Music app. Both models also come with a complimentary subscription to SiriusXM Satellite Radio Platinum, delivering enhanced sound quality through the 11 JBL speakers. The Crown editions also offer direct access to the Connected Services, providing guidance and productivity tools. The Platinum model even features a smartphone-enabled Digital Key for convenient door unlocking. The Multi-Information Display, with its 12.3-inch interface, provides additional visual cues in the cockpit.
