Performance Features
The 2024 4Runner is equipped with a traditional 4.0-liter engine block. Running on normal aspiration, the V-6 engine cranks out a maximum of 278 pound-feet of torque. You can tow up to 5,000 net pounds with this six-cylinder powerhouse. Also using natural aspiration, the 2024 Wrangler’s Pentastar engine tows only 3,500 pounds. This iconic V-6 engine block can’t produce more than 260 lb-ft of torque. You’ll find a variety of reliable off-road technologies on the 4Runner, such as a full-time 4WD system and Active Traction Control. This rugged Toyota SUV also offers the Torsen limited-slip center differential with a lock. You’ll navigate steep grades with ease thanks to the Downhill Assist Control and Crawl Control, you’ll easily navigate steep grades. Several off-road settings are available from the Multi-Terrain Select. Likewise, the 2024 Wrangler offers the Traction Management System with several off-road modes. This Jeep SUV is available with a rear-locking differential for enhanced traction. Rock rails and the Rock-Trac 4×4 drive system provide additional support for off-road driving. However, the Wrangler can’t match the 4Runner’s Kinetic Dynamic Suspension or X-REAS Sport Enhancement Suspension. The Toyota SUV is also available with the TRD FOX shock absorbers with remote reservoirs for handling extreme off-road conditions.
Interior Amenities
When equipped with three rows of seats, the 2024 Toyota 4Runner offers up to 88.8 cubic feet of cargo volume. If you fold the second-row seats, you can haul up to 46.3 cubic feet. The two-row models have up to 89.7 cubic feet of cargo space. Even when all five seats are occupied, you can still transport 47.2 cubic feet of compatible items. In stark contrast, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler offers just over 31 cubic feet of storage volume. This robust SUV is only available with a maximum of five seats. You’ll get other premium amenities inside the 4Runner, such as ventilated and heated front seats. This deluxe Toyota SUV also offers a dual-zone HVAC system with rear air vents.
Technology Features
Engineered by the JBL company, the 2024 Toyota 4Runner’s sound system has up to 15 speakers. This custom audio system has an amplifier and a subwoofer for rich acoustics. You can listen to HD Radio, SiriusXM Platinum, and other music hubs on the high-end sound system. You won’t find as many speakers on the 2024 Wrangler’s Alpine audio system. Some of the 4Runner trims boast a one-year subscription to the Remote Connect mobile app and Service Connect portal. You’ll also enjoy a 30-day trial of the Wi-Fi Connect plan on a 4G network. Similarly, the 2024 Wrangler offers Wi-Fi services and various remote mobile apps through the Uconnect 5 platform.
