Beaver Toyota Supports Forsyth County Family Haven as it Launched The Beaver Kindness Month

Family Haven partners with Beaver Toyota
Cumming, Georgia –Beaver Toyota Team joined forces with Forsyth County Family Haven, Inc., to provide relief for victims of domestic violence and their dependent children. Donations of can goods and supplies, as well as, momentary contributions have been collected for the entire month of August-“Beaver Kindness Month,” to support “Family Haven,” emergency shelter residents and outreach clients.

The Beaver Toyota family is known for its deep commitment to the local community. They have supported Family Haven through The Beaver Kindness Month, providing victims of domestic violence and their children with simple needs that will play kindness forward. Later this fall, The Beaver Toyota family, will be working with Family Haven on a car raffle.

Matt Calavan, Vice President and Managing Partner, Beaver Toyota, states, “Being able to provide help to those brave women who have taken the first step as survivors is a great privilege. Anytime our community rallies together, we can make a difference.”

Shandra Dawkins, Executive Director, Family Haven, states, “Through our partnership efforts with Beaver Toyota has provided the agency the platform to educate more individuals about family violence and the supportive services that we offer to the community, as well as, the donations assist in defraying expenses for much needed client supplies.”

Forsyth County Board Chair, Marie Dinsmore, states, “It’s a blessing to partner with Beaver Toyota and their employees during their Beaver Kindness Month to raise awareness and assist Family Haven’s emergency shelter and support services.”

In 2017, Forsyth County Family Haven, Inc. provided emergency shelter to 177 victims of domestic violence and their dependent children; 5,226 victims of domestic violence/families was provided with safe shelter, information and referral services, legal advocacy and other supportive services. The agency outreach counseling program navigated through the court system provided individual, family and support group counseling to 1, 020 adults and children. Our Safe Dates projected provided “Healthy Relationships- Family Violence Education,” curriculum to 1, 011 middle and high school students.
