American Legion Boys State Program

June 10th, 2019 by

Cumming American Legion Post #307 recently sent 21 outstanding seniors and leaders from 6 public High Schools and Pine Crest Academy to the annual Legion Boys State program held at Riverside Military Academy. Approximately 400 boys from the State of Georgia attended the “leadership action program”. They gain a working knowledge of Constitutional government from a Local, State and Federal level. Boys State was founded by The American Legion in 1935 to counter socialism inspired by the Nazi youth camps prior to WW11. Cumming Post #307 is proud to send more boys to Boys State than any other Legion Post in the State of Georgia.
