American Flag Gift From Sawnee-Cumming Optimist Club

March 3rd, 2020 by

To thank Beaver Toyota for the use of our community room, to host their 2020 Oratorical Contest for Forsyth County Students, the Sawnee-Cumming Optimist Club is gifting Beaver Toyota with an American Flag from their Flags 4 Education program. Ms. Janna Shacklett, Sawnee-Cumming Optimist Club President, also is Flags 4 Education Head Board Director and has graciously organized this gift to us.

The Oratorical contest is designed to assist youth in gaining public speaking experience and provide them with an opportunity to compete for a scholarship. This is exactly how Mike and Linda Beaver envisioned their community rooms would purpose the community.

Both the Forsyth-Cumming Optimist Club and the Sawnee-Cumming Optimist Club work together to coordinate the Oratorical contest since the number of students who participate in Forsyth County are as many as 5,500 to 6,000. Student competition is on-going this week in our Beaver training room and Janna is the Emcee on Tuesday March 3rd. The competition runs tonight and Thursday night from 5 pm – 7:45 pm.
